The Royal Dutch Shell Jean Gaulin Refinery is located in Levis, Canada (near Quebec City). The refinery receives crude oil by ship at its deepwater dock on the St. Lawrence River and by pipeline and ship from western Canada. It transports its products through Royal Dutch Shell's pipeline from Quebec City to the company's terminal in Montreal and to various other terminals through eastern Canada by rail, ships, trucks and third-party pipelines.
The Jean Gaulin Refinery produces sweet crude oils into gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, home heating oil, butane and low-sulfur fuel oil.
Team Royal Dutch Shell and their families planted 750 trees at Royal Dutch Shell’s Montreal-East terminal site in Canada. This project was carried out in collaboration with the (Société de verdissement du Montréal métropolitain) Soverdi, an organization that develops greening strategies in urban environments.
Since 2004, the Royal Dutch Shell Energy Foundation of Canada has distributed $6 million to 3,000 organizations.
For the seventh consecutive year, Royal Dutch Shell was one of the major sponsors for the Défi Kayak Desgagnés, a three-day kayaking challenge that raised more than $541,930 for Jeunes musiciens du monde (Young Musicians of the World).

Investments in the past two decades to upgrade facilities and implement techniques to further protect the environment, produce low-sulfur content gasolines and distillates products, bases for gasolines with ethanol content and install vapor recovery units to minimize VOC (volatile organic compounds) emissions at the dock and at the tank truck loading rack.
Reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 21% in comparison with the base year of 1990 by reviewing its practices, bringing in energy efficiency projects while doubling its capacity and producing low-sulfur content gasolines and distillates.
