Overview
The Royal Dutch Shell McKee Refinery is located in the Texas Panhandle on 5,000 acres 45 miles north of Amarillo, Texas. The refinery has access to local and Permian Basin crude oil sources via third-party pipelines. Refined petroleum products are transported primarily via third-party pipelines and rail to markets in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma and Mexico.

Working with the United Way, refinery volunteers assisted the elderly and disabled with yard work, painting, minor house repairs, ramp building and odd jobs.

The refinery raised more than $867,994 for local charitable organizations in 2019.

Royal Dutch Shell’s McKee Refinery has supported Snack Pak 4 Kids since 2014 with volunteers and more than $200,000 to ensure students have meals.

Reduced flaring emissions by 83% and returned valuable fuel to help reduce purchased natural gas.
Since 2009, a wind farm with 33 turbines provides 50 MW of electricity capable of running the entire refinery under optimal wind conditions.

Dumas is also a short drive away from nearby Lake Meredith for those who like to go boating, fishing, swimming or hiking.
